Tell us a bit about yourself?

My name is Jake Braceros and I work in Guest  Services at the Bay Course here at Kapalua. I have worked here for the past 18 years. I am originally from San Fernando, Philippines and I moved to Maui in 2005. Maui is a special place because of the consistently perfect weather and chill vibes.

What do you like to do on your days off?

For me, off days are all about family bonding.

How did you get into golf and what has significantly improved your game?

Golf was introduced to me by a good friend.  The number 1 way I improved my golf game has been by practicing every single day.

Can you recall a favorite golf memory?

My favorite golf memory is when in 2010, I played the Bay Course and shot even par. I really played well that day.

What do you like most about working at Kapalua?

Definitely my coworkers. We have a great bunch of people here.

What is your favorite club in your bag?

I love my 60-degree wedge because I really hit it well out of the sand around here. It’s a club that never disappoints me, unlike my driver.

If you had to give one tip to anyone planning to play at Kapalua, what would it be?

I would tell them that the greens here at Kapalua break towards the water about 70% of the time. That is on the Plantation Course as well as the Bay Course.

Who is your favorite golfer and why?

I am a big Jason Day fan because he is also Filipino.
