Can you share a bit about your background and your role at Kapalua Golf?
My name is Sebastian, and I am originally from Scranton, PA. I studied Professional Golf Management at Penn State University, and through Penn State, I have worked at some of the top clubs in the country. My past experiences have led me to the Assistant Golf Professional role at Kapalua.

What is your favorite aspect of working at Kapalua Golf?
My favorite aspect of working for Kapalua is the community that it provides. The team Kapalua has built is second to none, and what we all do to create the best experiences possible for all of our guests is amazing.

What is the most memorable experience you’ve had playing golf?
My most memorable experience playing golf has to be when I qualified for the State
Championship Tournament my senior year of high school. It was a very up-and-down round, but in the end, I was able to chip in for a birdie on the final hole to make the cut by one stroke. I then was able to play at States and played very well.

When you’re not working, what do you enjoy doing?
I love being in the water. Whether I am snorkeling, fishing, or surfing, I will never say no to water sports and activities.

If you could play golf with anyone, past or present, who would be in your foursome and why?
My dream foursome would consist of my father and I playing a match against Tiger Woods and Arnold Palmer at Augusta National. In reality, we would lose, but in this dream scenario, my father and I would win the match.

What is one tip you would give anyone playing at The Plantation Course?
One tip I always give everyone is to look inside the cup to see which side has a burnt edge. Where that burnt edge is on the cup is the direction in which the grain is growing. This means that the putt will break towards the side of the cup on which the burnt edge is.
